Paper Tiguer- fine art and design by Diane Tigue

about the artwork
I jump around in all media, but seem most comfortable in oils. I love the sensuous, buttery quality of oil (and of course, the addictive aroma of linseed oil.) If I am feeling particularly masochistic, I tackle an etching or a color reduction linoleum or woodcut. Some images call for one medium or another, and in printmaking, I try not to get too bogged down in process. My subject matter is varied.

  about the artist

Diane Tigue has an abiding and deep-seated aversion to math. She does not view this "logic aphasia" as a handicap, (after all they invented calculators and husbands for just that purpose). She tends to be reclusive, spending most of her "out of the home time" at coffee shops and bookstores. She loves terriers, movies, fairy tales, and wishes she could sing. She cannot. She writes bad poetry but has not been shamed into stopping. Visit Diane's Blog >

My main interest is in fairy tale and folklore and the visual interpretations they inspire me to make. I love to depict jokes and sayings that have stuck with me over the years. Lately, I have been blundering about on the computer and have created several images that reflect my humor and worldview. I decided to corral these images under the masthead of Paper Tiguer and convert them to greeting cards and other ephemera.
